WHERE THE LIGHT IS

The room darkens,

as the lights dim and the noise fades out

I found myself with nothing but I,

unarmed, senseless and numb

unable to defend myself against my fears

and wishing for tomorrow to arrive.

Keep me from the pain,

keep me from the battle,

keep me where the light is...

Suddenly the light came,

big, bright, white and warm as it ever was,

shielding my thoughts

turning me into a believer.

I now hope, I now dream

and most importantly,

I now strive,

to reach what my mind thought it was impossible.

I am awake and eager

and I stand strong and full of life.

But I still beg

to keep me where the light is.
